The social network is testing star ratings on Pages. This feature is being tested on the desktop version of Facebook with only a sub-section of users.
These ratings out of a total of 5 are a deviation from the usual Facebook like.
This rating information is being displayed on Business or Place Pages.
If completely rolled out, this feature can put Facebook in competition with Foursquare, Yelp and Google+ Local.
Google is now arming advertisers with a new campaign type, ‘Search Network with Display Select’, which helps them reach out to their target audience as users visit Google and other websites across the web.
‘Search Network with Display Select’ extends your campaign reach to the Google Display Network (GDN) which reaches 90% of the global online audience and includes 2 million publisher sites. You can upgrade existing search campaigns to ‘Search Network with Display Select’ in a few steps and stand a chance to gain 15% more customers by displaying your ads at the right time across search and the web.
Tell us what you think about these two updates. Will Facebook star rating help brands? Can the new Google AdWords campaign type really help you gain more customers?
